People are, by our very nature, irrational.
But we live in a world that, at almost every turn, encourages - if not demands - us to be rational. For us to play by the rules, stay in the box, take things one logical step at a time.
So we do. And why not? After all, rationality feels safe. It removes our emotions from the decision making process, allowing our mistakes to be simply errors of calculation and not - as we all fear - personal failure.
Yes, there are plenty of situations that rightfully require rationality. But it's very difficult to rationalize your way to happiness.
Don't live a rationalized life. Follow your quirks, your random hopes, your crazy dreams. Even - if not especially - if you're not sure how the dots connect.
They will, and might just turn you into the person you always wanted to be.
